Who can join The First Tee of Siouxland? Anyone age 7 – high school graduation We also have a TARGET level class for participants as young as 5. What is the cost? $85 per 9-week session. Participants receive a The First Tee of Siouxland shirt, bag tag, yardage book, and end of the summer pizza party. One of The First Tee of Siouxland’s objectives is to make our programs affordable and accessible to all. If your family is unable to afford the program fee, The First Tee of Siouxland is able to provide full or partial need-based financial assistance. Who are the instructors? Certified The First Tee coaches and volunteers. PGA professionals are also available at most courses. Are classes cancelled due to inclement weather? If weather forces us to cancel class, an alert will be posted on our website and social media pages. You can also receive information about class cancellation by calling one of our courses. We have a 10th week built into the schedule for rainy day make ups. How long are classes? Most sessions run 90 minutes. Our Eagle level classes generally run 120 minutes. What if I don’t have any golf clubs? Due to generous donors, we have enough left and right handed clubs for any participant who does not have their own. Where do the classes take place? Our summer classes take place at Sun Valley Golf Course, Floyd Park Golf Course, and Green Valley Golf Club. Does The First Tee of Siouxland offer private lessons? No, we do not. Can a child stay involved with The First Tee year after year? Yes. Participants will learn interpersonal, self-management, and goal setting skills, while learning the game of golf as they advance through The First Tee certification levels of PLAYer, Par, Birdie, Eagle, and ACE.
